The 2-night stay at Appartment Hôtel du Boulevard was a nightmare for us in Lausanne. The so-called hotel wasn't worth its name. The room we stayed in was on the top floor and tilted on 2 sides. There were 2 big sloping columns supporting the roof. The bath room was also tilted in such a way that you even had to squat down at the highest headroom of the tug to take a shower. You had to be very careful not to hit your head against the ceiling either in the tug or the room. There wasn't any window in the room except sky windows, but when you open them there was a lot of dust around the opening which might have accumulated for a long time. There wasn't any air conditioner or fan in the room and we were forced to open the sky windows for ventilation. It was lucky that there wasn't rain on the 2 days lest our luggage and bed might have been wetted. Our impression on Lausanne was spoiled by this overpriced, overrated and poorly managed hotel. In fact, the hotel was controlled by the unfriendly hotelier by remote control and there wasn’t any staff in the hotel after 4pm. I couldn’t even get a glass for brushing teeth.
Good location and my room at back so quiet. Good price.
Internet connection very poor - kept dropping out - was free but wouldn't be good if staying for days. Would be better if shower nossel placed higher
Though there was a leakage of the bathroom sink, it was fixed the next morning when the satff was alerted. It just meant that we could not use it the first day.
We were delighted to find a room which was tidy, clean and in reasonable condition. we liked the small breakfast bar and tea making facilities since it was snowing and hard to move about Lausanne.
The bathroom floor was quite flooded after two showers but this was not a big problem and we just mopped up with a towel.
Good news, WIFI works fine now..
I liked a lot that the payment in the hotel already included a ticket for the public transport in Lausanne, for the whole time of staying. I found this very convenient.
It is a bit odd, that the reception of the hotel is remote. I had no problems tough. But I'm not sure how quickly they would be able to solve a problem in case they were to be any.
There is no contact with anyone, very poor service. It makes it diffficult when we cannot speak swiss or german.
The appartment is within walking distance from railway station. Both bedroom and bathroom are clean and spacious. Internet connection is stable.
The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable. There was room in the bathroom to move and the bedrooms were spacious and well lit.
Despite advertising internet connnection there was none available during my time there which was an inconvenience
Hotel is promising free WIFI, you can be sure that you will never connect to WIFI in this Hotel. Six months ago I stay there and rised claim to reception that WIFI does not work, they promised that tomorrow IT guy will fix it. Nothing has happened. A week ago (after six months!) I stay there again, the same trouble, exactly the same answer, exactly the same result!!!
It has fit to my expectations and close to railway
I was not able to connect to Internet... I received password and name from reception they were gentil and service oriented, but may be some technical error in my computer did not allowed me to connect...
Interesting and well-equipped room.
With no permanent staff, my luggage had to be left unsecured in the laundry until the room was ready. I know it makes it cheaper, but I would prefer to deal with a real person on check-in rather than someone at the end of a phone.
This hotel is automatik - without reseption and personal. Very near to train station and the center of the city. WIFI is not working. No breacfasts.
An affordable compromise if you don't want to pay a fortune in hotel costs in Lausanne, but beware in summer, no air con! The room was clean.
The room was not very big and very hot. There was no air con or possibility to aerate the room because ther was only one window.
The kitchenette is very useful so we can prepare our own meals since food in Suisse is very expensive. While dealing with a "faceless" reception staff, she is prompt to answer phone calls. This is my 2nd stay here.
Would be good to provide a fan as the room was very, very hot during our stay when temperature was 34 degrees C
